How can I find out about new vacancy postings?
With us, you have the option of applying via the job market on the careers pages of the Open Grid Europe GmbH website or activating our search agent. Here, you can define your search criteria and, if you wish, the search agent will inform you daily or weekly via e-mail about new vacancy posts that correspond to your search criteria.
What is the situation with regard to data protection in the online system?
We place great emphasis on protecting your personal data. Personal data from the application that you submit on these pages are recorded, processed and utilised by Open Grid Europe solely for the purposes of saving, evaluating, quality control, allocating and forwarding your application. Your personal data can be accessed by the relevant HR personnel or are used by external agents for such purposes and, in certain cases, may also be made available to selected managers.

How can I prepare for an interview at Open Grid Europe?
To prepare for an interview, you should familiarise yourself both with the company in general and the specific position you are applying for. We will use the interview to find out what sort of person you are and learn more about any specialist knowledge you have acquired previously, your experience, your skills and your interests. We also want to give you an insight into our work environment, our company culture and the various opportunities we can offer. Please feel free to ask us questions too!

How many months in advance should I apply?
The online application process opens around 12 months before the apprenticeship begins. You can apply for the vacancies we post in our job market, which you can find on our careers pages.
Can I apply for multiple positions at the same time?

What happens after I've submitted my application?
As soon as your application has reached us, we will review it thoroughly. In the cover letter and the CV in particular, we place great emphasis on correct spelling and grammar. We also take a look at your references and any other records.
If your profile matches what we're looking for, then you'll be invited to take an online test. This takes around 60 minutes and the content is tailored to the apprenticeship you are applying for. After you have completed the test, we take a look at your test results. If you have done well in the test then you will be invited to an interview. If you're able to convince us in the interview, then nothing more stands in the way of your joining Open Grid Europe!
How can I be sure that Open Grid Europe has received my application?
Once your application has been received, you will receive confirmation via e-mail or a message to say your application has been logged in the online system. Please be sure to check your spam folder, as sometimes the confirmation of receipt can end up there. If you do not receive any confirmation then feel free to contact us by telephone.

We offer a number of apprenticeships with parallel degree courses. All the information on the application and the degree courses that Open Grid Europe offers can be found on our careers pages.
Are the online job vacancies up to date?
Will my travel costs be reimbursed if I have to travel to take a test or complete a selection procedure?
Information on Open Grid Europe's travel expenses guidelines are supplied along with the invitation to an interview or a recruitment test. Please submit your completed travel expenses form and all receipts following your recruitment test/selection procedure to the address we supply in the invitation.
Are apprentices / those following a parallel apprenticeship and degree programme subsequently employed by Open Grid Europe?

Trainee programme
What are the prerequisites for participation in a trainee programme?
One prerequisite for your trainee programme with us is a completed degree course (diploma/master's degree) in business economics, business engineering, IT or another field of engineering. You will also need good communication and social skills, which are important for working within a team. Are you able to work independently and conscientiously and are you interested in the energy industry? Then we look forward to your application!
How does the application process work for a traineeship at Open Grid Europe?
Once we have reviewed your application and decided to find out more about you, we will invite you to take part in a telephone interview. If you're able to convince us in the interview, then we will first welcome you to an assessment centre, after which we can look forward to your joining our company.
How long does the trainee programme last?
Our administrative and technical trainee programmes last 24 months, in which you will assist us in four (admin. trainee programme) or 2-3 (tech. trainee programme) stations you can choose yourself. You will thus gain a good insight into the way OGE works and can build up a network within the company.
Are there fixed start dates and/or when can I apply for the trainee programme?
We advertise new trainee vacancies as required several times a year, since we place great emphasis on giving you as a trainee the opportunity to work with us permanently afterwards. So far, we have been able to recruit almost 100% of our trainees as permanent employees. Simply take a look at our job market.
