The results of the call for expressions of interest in the H2med corridor are promising. Almost 170 companies have participated with over 500 projects. This will help to better assess supply and demand along the hydrogen corridor from the Iberian Peninsula, through France and into the German hydrogen core grid along the entire value chain. The corridor is intended to significantly advance the decarbonisation of the economy.
On 30th of January, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) awarded 35,558,850 euro of grants for the H2med project studies submitted to the 2024 CEF energy call.
The five H2med TSO partners are part of this Alliance which main goal is to get the H2med Southwestern Hydrogen Corridor set in motion by the early 2030´s.
With its 2023 report, OGE competed for the ESG Transparency Award for the first time, achieving an overall score of 86%, which places the report in the Excellence Class.
The gas transmission system operator OGE and the municipal utility Stadtwerke Essen are working together on the future of hydrogen transportation to and within Essen. The partnership agreement signed by both companies will enable Stadtwerke Essen and OGE to explore how hydrogen can be transported through the nationwide core network to businesses and consumers in Essen.
Today, the H2med partners have officially launched a Call for Interest open until the 18th of December to assess the needs of future infrastructure users across the hydrogen value chain. This initiative will help to optimise infrastructure design and establish operational requirements.
A recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between FluxSwiss, Transitgas, OGE, Fluxys TENP and Snam. marks a significant step towards enhancing hydrogen supply in Central Europe, particularly in Baden-Württemberg, Germany and northwestern Italy.
At its 13th Energiepolitischer Dialog (Energy Policy Dialogue) entitled ‘From talk to action: Quo vadis H2 core network for the green transformation?’, OGE examined the current state of play in the hydrogen sector.
