Press release

OGE introduces competitive capacity marketing at selected storage connection points as of 1 April 2022

On 30 November 2021, OGE applied to the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) for the introduction of competitive capacity marketing for conditionally firm freely allocable capacities (bFZK) at selected storage connection points. OGE sees flexible marketing between competing storage connection points as an appropriate way to better meet market demand for firm capacities. Following the approval of the application by BNetzA as part of its recent decision of 01 March 2022 (BK7-21-099), OGE will commence competitive capacity marketing with the day-ahead auction on 31 March 2022 for 1 April 2022. The relevant capacities will be allocated to the highest bidder as part of an auction on the capacity marketing platform PRISMA.

OGE will market competing capacities at the following storage connection points subject to network planning requirements:

- Bierwang storage facility,
- Speicher Breitbrunn storage facility,

- Epe H storage facility,
- Gronau-Epe H1 storage facility,

- Friedeburg-Etzel, Schienenstrang, EGL,
- Etzel (Crystal storage facility), Bitzenlander Weg 10,
- Friedeburg-Etzel, Bitzenlander Weg 2,
- Etzel (ESE storage facility), Bitzenlander Weg 3,

- Epe L storage facility,
- Gronau-Epe L1 storage facility,
- Gronau-Epe L2 storage facility.

OGE plans to hold an online webinar on competitive capacity marketing in German and English on 17 March 2022.

Interested market participants can register by sending an e-mail to gastransport@oge.net.
